Our story begins in 2012 when Makshuder Rahman and the Late Rezzakul Haider planned a partnership in export and import in clothing business. When the sale of an outlet fell through at the eleventh hour, they did not lose hope and continued their passion to work together and changed their plans to opening a chain of hotels.
With no experience in the hospitality industry, they took a risk to test the waters and as a stepping stone, the first guest house was established in 2014 on Bishopthorpe Road – Diamonds Guest House Ltd., supported by Kohinoor Rahman and Ismail Miah.
Seeing the demand, the second Diamonds site opened in 2016, off Haxby Road – Diamonds Villa Ltd.
‘Diamonds Group’ was formed and established as an umbrella Company.
The third site was opened in 2017 – Diamonds Inn Ltd. and fourth in 2018 – Diamonds Lodge Ltd.
The plan for a hotel in 2019-2020 was postponed due to the global pandemic, then recession impacted to a further delay in pursuing with the plans.
The plan for hotel is still in process. . .
The tourism industry was hugely affected by the pandemic and travelling restrictions were in place, which diverted Diamonds Group plans to forming ‘Diamonds Property Development Ltd.’ in 2021 to allow a route to the Real Estate Sector.
In 2023, Diamonds Group’s fifth site was opened – Emerald Residence by Diamonds.
In 2023 Diamonds Group, embarked upon their original plan to Export and Import internationally, introducing ‘Sapphire Tradelinks Ltd’.
With a young force, Diamonds Group hopes to be committed, dedicated and distinguish itself from others by becoming a brand in the hospitality industry, fill the gap in housing requirements and to grow with plans in the export and import trading.
Our ‘Rock’ the late Mr Rezzakul Haider, without him all this would not happen. His constant encouragement and persistence to move forward. His passion in creating something new and nurturing it till his hearts' content, was our motivation. He was our vigilant guide and an impeccable foreman.
